National Vocational Certificate in Business Services (Level 1 - 4) (Office Administration): In level 1 this qualification recognizes people who have the competencies required for performing basic office administration tasks. It is awarded to people who have demonstrated the skills and knowledge required to perform basic office administration tasks, perform basic computer operations in an office environment; apply fundamental communication and numeracy competencies in performing office administration duties; and demonstrate knowledge of HIV and AIDS and entrepreneurships.
The qualification starts from level 1 – 4 whereby in level 4 the qualification is awarded or recognises people who have the competencies required for performing office administration tasks. It is awarded to people who have demonstrated the skills and knowledge required to coordinate team projects; monitor customer services; plan meetings; organize events; organize travel arrangements; demonstrate complex word processing skills; supervise and established office records system; and plan and write complex documents as part of office procedures.

Electricians work on electrical equipment, home installations and Manufacturing plants to repair, install and maintain power, lighting, communications and control systems.

Hospitality and tourism is a vast industry with many different career paths. Trainees seeking a degree in hospitality and tourism are prepared to enter nearly any segment of the industry, such as lodging, hotels, restaurants, casino, cruise line operations, resorts and spas, event management, or airline catering. Trainees are provided the knowledge and competences needed to successfully manage a restaurant, hotel, or an independently-owned hospitality or tourism business.
Three Occupational Sectors offered at NVTC: Food and Beverage, Commercial Cookery and Front Office. .
1. Occupational Sector: Food and Beverage Operations
A job as a Food and Beverage Server falls under the broader career category of Waiters and Waitresses. Servers are the people in the front lines of food and beverage customer service; they take orders, deliver food, clean up and reset the table afterwards. Be it a casual dining place or a service restaurant, servers are the smiling, aproned agents of deliciousness.
Part of your job description as a food and beverage server includes making sure the orders are right, the food comes out as quickly as possible, each person has enough wet-naps, and you can roll a mean fork, as well as spoon and knife in a napkin, though these at times can depend on the type of responsibilities you get.

Job Duties
To ensure that guests are provided with drinks and food when requested and offered these when appropriate in an effort to maximize sales. To ensure the Restaurant service is at a quality at all times whilst preserving a level of guest privacy. To complete all cleaning and preparation to ensure a smooth service at all times. Ensure that all guests are served to the hotels standard in the Restaurant / Bar / Lounge areas. Display highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas.

Wholesale and Retail Operations - NQF Levels: 2
National Vocational Certificate in Wholesale and Retail Operations (Level 2): This qualification recognises people who have the competencies required to define the core concepts of Wholesale and Retail, complete basic business calculations, count stock for a stock-take, interact with Customers, maintain a safe and secure wholesale and retail environment, record transactions, process payment at a Pont of Sale (POS), mark merchandise and maintain displays, implement promotional instructions, apply in-bound contact centre operations within a commercial environment, maintain and adapt oral communication, write and present information for a defined context, use language and communication in occupational learning programmes, access and use information from texts, use mathematics to investigate and monitor the financial aspects of personal and community life, demonstrate understanding of rational and irrational numbers and number systems, identify, describe, compare, classify, explore shape and motion in 2-and 3-dimensional shapes in different contexts, apply basic knowledge of statistics and probability to influence the use of data and procedures in order to investigate life related problems, and work with a range of patterns and functions and solve problems.
